Description

Morgan Creek Cabinet Company is a small but continually growing company devoted to building the highest quality handcrafted kitchens and other residential cabinetry. We are available only by reference through a limited group of architects, designers, and residential contractors in Atlanta. Although we mostly serve the Atlanta metropolitan area, especially the historic community of Buckhead, we also serve other areas of the South, including the North Carolina mountain region and coastal areas as well. Our specialties include period and antique styles, international country styles, and classic American styles—all performed with crisp, elegant woodwork details and many specialty and artistic finishes. We see ourselves primarily as a technical and artistic resource for the architects and designers with whom we are associated. We offer our talents and experience to help them achieve their visions, and that of their clients.

Location

Our current location is a 13,000 square foot facility we built in 2001 in the city of Acworth, 20 minutes north of Atlanta. Here we design, plan, build, finish, assemble and ship all of the cabinet projects we are involved with—from raw materials only.

History

Morgan Creek Cabinet Company was incorporated under its present name in 1995 by long-time Atlanta cabinetmaker, Morgan Harrison; but this was only a natural evolution of a cabinetmaking enterprise that has been existing since the late 1970’s, known first as Smith-Harrison Cabinetmakers operating out of a shop on Edgewood Avenue in downtown Atlanta, then later for years out of building at the historic Murray Mill. It became Morgan Harrison Cabinetmakers in 1986 and sometime afterwards the shop location was moved to north of Atlanta.

Philosophy

We respect the ancient craft of woodworking and the men and women who practice it. We are participating in an age-old profession that has been regarded for many centuries with deep respect and awe. In the old days it took a talented apprentice nearly two decades of hard work before he was granted the right to call himself a cabinetmaker. The vagaries of time have somewhat tarnished this legendary calling, but we at Morgan Creek Cabinet Company are taking the ancient role of cabinetmaker very seriously, and our work and reputation reflect this.
